Yay! My first shiny on Pokemon Diamond! However, this is not my first shiny EVER. That title belongs to a little Pidgey named Pidge, whom I caught on my LeafGreen Version with no cheats whatsoever. ANYWAY...this is my second shiny, a Shinx by the name of Shimmer. In' he cute?

For those of you who are wondering, here are my tips on Shiny hunting:
1. If you have been trying for a while, and still fail, don't worry..it happened to me too. I went for Shinx because it was one of a select few that were considered "easy" to hunt.
2. Always choose the patch of grass farthest from your character. If this patch happens to be on the edge or touching a tree/fence/etc, RESTART THE POKERADAR. Also, do not step directly behind your player unless you have seen 4 shaky grasses elsewhere.
3. I caught Shimmer on chain 41. He didn't appear in a "shiny" grass, but instead, a grass called "rare grass" which emits gold sparkles like those found underground (indicating treasure in the walls). I'm not sure why this happened, but it did.
4. This had been my only successful chain EVER. All others failed, the highest at 21. I don't know why, but Shinx was just very easy to chain.
5. If you are hunting an Electric type like Shinx, put a Pokemon with the Static ability (like Pikachu, Raichu, Elekid, etc) at the head of your party to increase your chances of carrying on with the chain. And that's all I have to say. HAVE FUN HUNTING!
